Notion Docs comes with a pre-built template you can use to create you own Documentation or Knowledge Base. This enables you to customize your Documentation or Knowledge Base 😊
To manage this template first go to your Notion Docs Dashboard from your Notion Navigation.
In a upper right corner of you dashboard you can find a Button that is used in Notion for creating new pages.
Click on a Arrow ⬇ on the right of the New button.
You should see a Docs Template notion template.
You can now use this template as it is, or click a ••• icon to open a Template configuration menu.
Then click the 📝 Edit button
Template will open in a popup, here you can customize your Docs Page 😄
To edit a default cover image you should hover over cover image of you Notion Docs Template, and then click on a Change Cover button.
This will open a popup to choose your own cover image form Notion Gallery, by Uploading your Cover, by Link or using it directly form the Unsplash.
If you want to remove your cover image altogether you can do it by clicking a Remove button on a top right corner of the popup.
The Content you put into your Notion Docs Template will automatically be added to all new Docs Articles you create. This might be helpful if you want to add additional content to every page.

You can locate your Footer on a Bottom of Notion Docs Template. By default it is a embedded footer of Notion Docs. But you can edit it, remove it, or do whatever you want 😄
The important thing about footer is that this part of code will be loaded to your every page. This can give you some special features especially in a form of analytics.

Notion has some useful features that can help you customize your Documentation and Knowledge Base. To access those preferences first click on a ••• icon located in a top right corner of your Notion Docs Template.
Then choose Customize page from the menu
The page preference popup is opened
Backlinks if enabled will add a backlink to every page where current page is mentioned. This might be useful for your Documentation or Knowledge Base if you want to list related pages on top of a Page for faster navigation.
This might enable your team and your users to comment on certain pages. This might create a discussion around certain topics your users are interested in, or can be used by your users for a clarification on published article.
If page discussion is enabled then you can configure how they are shown.
Here you can choose which properties are shown or hidden on all your Documentation Pages.
